Having worked within the health sector for 23 years, I had many experiences of stressful situations, dealing with stressful people and going through stressful time in my own life too.
I began to learn the importance of the mind-body connection more deeply when I started practising yoga properly in 2014, initially to help reduce my stress level during the most challenging time in my life.
Through professional and personal experiences, I learned some of the struggles women go through on a day-to-day basis. They find it difficult to let go, switch off and relax because they put so much pressure on themselves as they feel they have to do and control everything. Subsequently they suffer because their own basic needs aren’t met. When our basic needs are not met, we’re unable to function at our optimum and best levels.
This is why I feel so passionate to help these women to start thinking and taking care of themselves first so that they can feel and look their best and give their best to life.
balance is key
I believe in living a balanced and aligned life. This keeps me grounded. Running my own business and being a mother of 2 and a wife keeps life busy and interesting. This is the more reason of having a good balance. It’s important knowing when to stop and rest.
nurture and nourishment
Meeting and nurturing my needs is therefore my priority. This includes eating food that is nourishing for my body and mind, exercising, sleeping and having a morning rituals.
I'd like to think that I keep everything in balance and moderation. However there are times when life throws something unexpected. Having a good self-care ritual reminds me how to ground myself again. So depending on the circumstances, I always like to prioritise meditation and yoga.
